The rarest of woods are brought to you in a hand cut frame. Not only does your new Amazon Timber Frame come constructed from the finest of woods, it is also made in the rarest of ways; by hand. We employ third generation ship-wrights to construct your frame. These craftsmen live near the Amazon River and create these magnificent frames using joinery and tools similar to those used in shipbuilding. While some hand power tools are used to improve fit and accuracy many of the hand tools are the same ones our grandfathers used. These are not cookie cutter or CNC machined homes. Every mortise, every tenon, every joint is cut for your home specifically. No job numbers here, each piece of the job is identified as being for your home, using your name. Because each piece is custom cut the design of your frame is up to you. Even if you choose one of the frame designs we’ve built before there is still plenty of room to customize. That is one of the great benefits of timber frames. The shell does not require load bearing walls on the interior. Layout of the interior, partitioning or not, is very flexible. Of course there are other reasons to consider timber frame construction. Coupled with structural insulated panels and modern heating systems this is a truly energy efficient home. So how does this frame get to you and get put up. We take care of that too. We will erect your frame on your foundation anywhere in the US. Some of the timber wrights from Brazil will even come up to assist our local crew in raising your frame. The crew will work with your builder and/or panel company to make sure everything goes smoothly for you. We can also provide flooring and trim lumber to match or compliment your frame.
